Oriental rug appraisal

My name is Mark Bernsen and I was the former owner of Alans Oriental Rugs, in Memphis, TN, for more than 25 years. My experience and extensive knowledge of handmade oriental rugs goes well beyond 35 years, as my father was the original owner. I grew up immersed in the beauty of oriental rugs and look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with you. My expertise in oriental rugs includes new, old and antique rugs with a specialty in rugs from Iran (Persia), Turkey, India, China and the Caucasus Mountains.

Throughout my years in the rug business, my expertise has been used to determine values for attorneys, insurance companies and individual families. Interior designers have also used my expertise to help with deciding what rugs should be used in their projects - including advice on color, size and overall design.
